Minnesota Eye Consultants is the leading provider of integrated vision services, spanning eye exams and specialty contact lens care to complex surgical cases and ophthalmic research in the greater Minneapolis-Saint Paul area.
Recognizing an increasing regional demand for medical retina services, Unifeye Vision Partners worked with partners Minnesota Eye Consultants and Northwest Eye to found a new retina subspecialty practice in the Twin Cities. Opening its first location in Bloomington in July 2022, Minnesota Retina Associates board-certified ophthalmologists provide compassionate, personalized care for a full range of retina conditions including macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Northwest Eye is one of the largest specialty eye care providers in the upper Midwest, caring for patients of all ages and serving the communities in and around the northwestern Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.
Founded in 1990 by Drs. Michael Merck and Christopher Wallyn (friends from medical school), Regional Eye Center (REC), has a team of 35 professionals including two optometrists. Together, the team delivers full-service ophthalmology and optometry services, providing family eye care and a wide range of medical and surgical care, including pediatrics. The practice includes an optical retail center, the ophthalmology clinic, and an ASC. All three services operate out of the same building, located 60 miles west of downtown Minneapolis. Founded in Chaska in 2005 by three of their current physician partners (Drs. Amy Freed, Chris Freed, and Chad Dockter), Southwest Eye Care (SWEC) is an ophthalmology and optometry practice focused on providing eye care for all ages to the local community. Joining the team’s 10 optometrists in 2017 was Dr. Jabin Krassin who added full ophthalmology services including cataract surgery, glaucoma care, LASIK & refractive surgery, eye injections, botox, cosmetic lid services, and emergency services.
In addition to ten clinic locations, SWEC brings to the UVP team a Medicare-certified ambulatory surgical center, known as Atlas Surgery Center. Located in Chaska, the ASC offers individualized patient care and expert technology for cataract surgery and glaucoma treatment.
Northern Plains Surgery Center, based in Fargo, North Dakota, represents UVP’s fifth practice within the Upper Midwest and the 13th member of the growing UVP community. Founded in 1999 by physician partners including Dr. Steven Bagan and Dr. Lance Bergstrom (who remain physician partners today), the Northern Plains Surgery Center serves physicians and patients from Bagan Strinden Vision, Eye Consultants of North Dakota, and Bergstrom Eye and Laser Clinic. Board-certified surgeons treat a wide range of vision-related diagnoses including cataract, glaucoma, corneal transplants, and eyelid surgeries. Along with Drs. Bagan and Bergstrom, the ASC’s other current physician partners include Dr. Tom Strinden, Dr. Michelle Atchison, and Dr. Anne Keating.
Located in Fargo, North Dakota, Eye Consultants of North Dakota (ECND) offers a state-of-the-art clinic which combines the latest in technology with compassion and personal patient care. ECND offers both routine optometric care as well as experienced and professional ophthalmology with three MDs and three ODs, led by Dr. Michelle Atchison, Dr. Anne Keating, and Dr. Steven Thom. ECND offers cataract surgery with premium lens implants, corneal consultations and transplantation, macular degeneration treatment, eyelid surgery, and pediatric vision care.
Founded in 2017 by Dr. Paul Dougherty, Dr. Adam Abroms, and Renata Stone, the team at ADV Vision serves patients across Central California from clinics in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and Santa Maria. Their physicians perform surgery at Paragon Surgery Center in San Luis Obispo, Posada Surgery Center in Paso Robles, and at Premier Surgery Center in Santa Maria, which joined the UVP community earlier this year. Providers at ADV Vision include two ophthalmologists and one optometrist.

Founded in 1996 by Dr. Paul J. Dougherty, DLV Vision serves patients across the greater Los Angeles area. Together with their professional team in clinic, DLV Vision offers six ophthalmologists and four optometrists who serve in and around Westlake Village, Camarillo, Simi Valley, Encino, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, and Ventura.

With roots dating back to 1955, the team at Kings Eye Center delivers exceptional medical and surgical care in both optometry and ophthalmology. Led by Dr. Bradley Beard and supported by three optometrists and more than twenty-five team members, the team specializes in comprehensive eye exams, diabetic and glaucoma management, cataract surgery, and glasses and contacts offerings through their onsite optical shop.
Serving residents across the Central Coast of California, Pacific Eye joined the UVP community in August 2021. Their team of highly qualified doctors ensures top-notch and comprehensive care at each of their locations across both San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. The practice offers a variety of services, including routine and highly-specialized eye care and the latest in laser eye surgery.
Founded in 2007 by physician partners from Pacific Eye Surgeons, Shepard Eye Center, California Retinal Consultants, ADV Vision, and Central Coast Retinal, the ASC serves patients in the Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, along the Central Coast. Together, the thirteen physicians and their team at the ASC provide the latest in technology and surgical treatment for ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology (ENT), and retinal patients.
As the longest continuously operating eye care clinic in Tulare County, California, Sierra Eye Group takes considerable pride in their reputation as friendly, outcome-focused vision care experts. With local roots dating back to 1976, Sierra Eye Group includes two ophthalmologists and two optometrists, led by Dr. Steven Cantrell and Dr. Matthew Kirkman.

Inland Eye LASIK, formerly Inland Eye Institute, is a highly-respected specialty eye care provider in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. The practice offers a one-stop shop for all vision needs from routine eye exams, glasses, and contacts through complex vision care treatment and surgery in cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal care.
Led by Patrick Sweeney, M.D., Sweeney Eye Associates has roots dating back 23 years. The practice offers five ophthalmologists and one optometrist who serve patients out of two clinics and one ambulatory surgery center. The team at Sweeney Eye specializes in laser-assisted cataract surgery, premium lens IOL implementation, laser vision correction, and comprehensive eye care treatment using the most advanced diagnostic and surgical technology. They treat cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic and retina disease, along with comprehensive eye care.
The practice offers services from its ambulatory surgery center and clinic in Sunnyvale, Texas, just east of Dallas, and also from a clinic in Richardson, near Plano.
